This was great! Russ, the organizer, was very knowledgeable and gave each of us individual instruction, and helped us with any problems we had. After going to this event, I am not more interested in the subject, and will try to do some of my own mapping now.

Success fail! We got too big for the Radiance Tea House space, so we moved down one block to Five Guys. They're closed because they need their gas hookup inspected, but they're letting us use their tables.

Wow, more bike racks. Just imagine having a bike rack everywhere you need one, and not have to lock up to random immovable things! http://openstreetmap.org has more info. Also see http://opencyclemap.org/

The timing on this is perfect, highly relates to a project I'm working on for Transalt.org (see bio). Would love to learn more about OpenStreetMap in advance of the mtg. any info online?

    •  This was a great meetup. Cool and interesting and enthusiastic people attended. The organizer did a fantastic job. Russ brought loaner GPS equipment and let us go out, collect data and then come back and update the OSM map using JOSM. I brought GPS data I had already collected and he showed me how to edit and update. It was productive and fun.
