This group is for those interested in the Pali Buddhist Texts, principally the Nikayas in Pali and in English translation, the Pali language and the ideas and concepts embodied in the texts. We meditate but this is not a meditation group.  We agree with Warder who said "...it must still be said the the Pali Texts themselves are the only reliable authority as to their meaning...the meanings of the key terms cannot be guessed at, nor determined by etymology...they must be elucidated by a delicate judging of the contexts in which they occur...". We study the suttas in terms of the suttas not in terms of the Abhidhamma or commentaries alone.
