Hello everyone -
Our next destination, Flushing Queens! The site of the 1964 World's Fair will be our host for the morning as we discover the statues, the people, the nooks and crannies of what was one of the World's most impressive event.
Flushing Meadows is the home to the Queen's Zoo, Citi Field (home of the Mets), The US Open Tennis center, the Queen's Museum of Art and an amazing globe made of tons of steel. If anyone saw Men In Black, the Flushing Meadows is the location of the movie's Climax :)
We will meet almost at the end of the 7 Line, Willet's Pt. Boulevard - Shea Stadium Station at 10.30am. If anyone would like to take the ride to Flushings with me, I will be at the clock in the middle of Grand Central Station from 9.30am to 9.45am. After that, I'll catch the 7 Line to Flushings!
After the meetup, let's hit Jackson Heights for lunch!
Hope to see you guys there!
Gus
Hi Patrick,
Part of the idea of meeting at the last stop is to be able to walk around a little bit and not head straight for the park. let me know what you think if not, there's still time to change it.
I really recommend willets pt. There is a lot of walking in the park.
Gus, would you kindly update the meetup point if it is going to be different from the one listed in the event listing?
Hey Kinan
the meeting point has been updated since this morning when I sent out the email. Let me know if you need additional details. I'll be posting a link to a map tonight
"Iron Man 2" the movie begins and ends at Flushing Meadow Park, which plays a great role in the development of new Iron Man technology. Director Jon Favreau was born and raised in Queens.

Hey Gus, I live in this area. It would be best if you meet at Willet Pt. (next to last stop on 7 line) instead of Main st. If you meet at Main st, you will have to take the train one stop back. Citi field is at Willets Pt. as well as the tennis stadium and the entrance to flushing meadow park.
