What better way to spend a hot, summer day than taking photographs at one of our beloved museums in New York City - with air conditioning!!
Subway: Take the 4, 5, or 6 train to 86th Street and walk three blocks west to Fifth Avenue. This walk is about a half mile and takes approximately ten minutes. Bus: Take the M1, M2, M3, or M4 bus along Fifth Avenue (from uptown locations) to 82nd Street or along Madison Avenue (from downtown locations) to 83rd Street.
This is a short photowalk. General admission to enter the museum is $25 recommended, but you can pay whatever you want - even $1.
Be at the museum at 2pm sharp. Please be on time and don't be late. Check online for subway service changes and/or delays in traffic. The lines to buy tickets will be long, so I will wait in the lobby until 2:30pm for everyone to be ready to enter the museum.
The Met is open until 5:30pm.
From the website:
Still photography is permitted for private, noncommercial use only in the Museum's galleries devoted to the permanent collection. Photographs cannot be published, sold, reproduced, transferred, distributed, or otherwise commercially exploited in any manner whatsoever. Photography is not permitted in special exhibitions or areas designated as "No Photography"; works of art on loan from private collections or other institutions may not be photographed. The use of flash is prohibited at all times and in all galleries. Movie and video cameras are prohibited. Tripods are allowed Wednesday through Friday, and only with a permit issued by the Information Desk in the Great Hall.
All backpacks, large bags, and large umbrellas must be checked in at the coat-check facilities. To ensure the safety of the collection, the Museum does not permit visitors to carry bags on their backs in the galleries. Food and drink are not allowed in the Museum and may not be checked in at the coat-check facilities.

Obviously this event will take place rain or shine - since it will be indoors. Pack light - I suggest just your camera and one lens, no tripod, no flash, and no food or drinks allowed in the museum - security will make you throw them away.
I highly recommend you avoid using large backpacks. Security will make you wear them in front of you, which may make it difficult to take photos. Ladies, if you have a small camera bag or handbag big enough to hold your camera, that might help.
For those who don't know me by now - I have a big issue with punctuality for these events. I don't mean to be a hard-ass about it, but it is imperative that everyone should arrive on time. Dealing with latecomers takes my time away from the people I am with as well as taking photos myself. Check online for traffic, service delays and/or changes. I can't answer my phone within the museum, but I will do my best to post where we are periodically only within the first hour on this event page. SO PLEASE DON'T BE LATE!! AND PLEASE UPDATE YOUR RSVP IF YOU CANNOT MAKE IT.
Looking forward to tomorrow's event... :)
