Google+ Hangout: Prime Lenses - The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly

This meet up will take place on Google+ Hangout. It is our goal to capture the event to be seen on Youtube. In the event you cannot make it, you will be able to view the Hangout on Youtube. A link will be published after the hang out is completed, if possible.

In this meet up, we will address the needs, wants and desires of owning or wanting to buy a Prime Lens for your camera. We will also address which Prime Lenses we recommend acquiring. We will share our experiences with you, to help you make better informed decisions regarding which prime lens/es you should could have with you for your occasions as well as which prime lens/es have worked for us. The information shared can be used with any manufacturer, Canon, Nikon, Leica, Olympus, Sony, etc.

We will also answer your questions. We'd like to keep the questions to this specific topic, so please try to think of your questions in advance.

To join this meetup simply RSVP. We will contact you and send you a Google+ Circle request to your GMAIL account. You MUST have a GMAIL account to participate in this Google+ Hangout. Please DO NOT wait until the day of the meetup to establish yourself with Google & Google+ Hangouts.

This is a first come first serve meetup. We are limited to 10 active participants. You ARE NOT GUARANTEED a spot in the Hangout simply by RSVP'ing. Please consider meeting up with friends so that many can fit into each spot. For instance, several people can go to one person's place to participate in one of the 10 spots.

Please make sure you use a headset with mic. Not hang a headset with mic can cause feedback. If you are the cause of feedback, we will ask you to mute your mic. You will still be able to hear and see what we are discussing during the Google+ Hangout.

    My Fellow Photographers:

It was brought to my attention that there were a few people who complained they missed today’s Google+ Hangout because of the starting time and that they did not know that the maximum people allowed on the Hangout is 10.

I may have accidently changed the starting time several days ago while editing, and I will take full responsibility for that mistake. So, I apologize for that. Do not blame Danny and Verena. This never happened before, and I will try not to make this mistake again.

However, Danny did post on the event page about the maximum number of people on a Hangout. If you check the thread on the event page, I reinforced Danny’s event 5 days ago with the same information.

...My Co-Organizers and I try to do our best to keep the group informed with emails when possible. But ultimately it is your responsibility to check in on our event pages periodically, whether you receive an email or not, to read all the details -- in its entirety on the event pages.

As much as we love hosting meetups, and I don’t want to sound mean, but this is NOT our full time job, and I repeat, you have to read the entire description of the event AND check in on the event page periodically for any changes and updates. I suggest you check the information specifically the night before AND the morning of the event. And if you have any questions about a specific event, contact the event host(s) or post your question on the event page.

I appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

A Google/Google+ Hangout is a video chat, like Skype - where you need a computer with a webcam. In order to be in the Hangout, you'll need a gmail account. After that, you will have to open a Google+ and then email Danny your gmail address so he can add you to his circle, and vice versa. All who are in the circle will receive a gmail from Danny with the invite to the Hangout. PLEASE NOTE: this works as a first come first serve basis, and the maximum people in a Hangout is 10. So there is no guaranteed spot for everyone. And if you don't have a Google account, go to www.google.com and sign up for both gmail and Google+ for FREE!! Hope this helps.
