Dark Alley Night Shoot in Tribeca

Dingy and Pristine

Hot Real Estate Tribeca

** Updated 3/9/12 **

Let’s roam the shadowy streets of Tribeca and shoot some night photography at a few interesting alleys – and maybe get creative with some light painting. We will meet in front of wichcraft on Beach Street & Greenwich Street.

Nearest subway stations:

* Canal Street (A, C, E)

* Canal Street (N, Q, R)

The first alleyway is on Beach Street & Collister Street. We will shoot some long exposures and then we can move to Staples Street and Duane Street.

The other two alleys that I found were covered with scaffolding but it might be worth our while to check them out: Franklin Place & White Street, and Theatre Alley & Ann Street (this one is actually by the WTC and is about a 15-20 minute walk).

Tripods are highly recommended for long exposures and don’t forget to bring your flashlight or glowsticks for light painting.

Warning: Wichcraft will not be open when we meet. There will be difficulty to find restrooms and other places open to eat, so make sure you "take care of your business" before you arrive and bring snacks.

This event will start at 7pm sharp and it will be cold, so please be on time. After 7pm I will turn off my phone. I hate to be a hard-ass, but it is difficult to have conversations with people and shoot photographs while answering the phone every few minutes from latecomers. So give yourself plenty of time to travel.  If you do arrive late and you don't see the group at the meetup point, most likely we are around the corner at the first alleyway (Beach Street and Collister Street).

If you have any questions, send me an email through meetup or a text message before the day and time of the event. Please make sure you identify yourself in your message so I know who you are. Thank you.

    This is my first time and I really enjoy it. I hope the weather is warmer next time so it will give the chance to refresh ourselves with some nice beer outdoors in a local bar and talk about this passion of ours
