I'm cancelling the Colors of Christmas Meetup due to the 60% chance of rain forecast for tomorrow afternoon. Unfortunately I won't be able to reschedule the meetup as I will be working during the week and traveling for the Christmas weekend.
Nonetheless, I engage each of you to grab your camera and take pictures of Christmas decoration whenever the weather is on your side. I opened a photo album "Colors of Christmas" where you can upload and share your photos.
Feel free to download and follow the map that I posted on the meetup website. I'm not able to email attachments through meetup, but this is the link to the download:
Also, If you don't want to fight with tourists for the best picture spot in Midtown Manhattan, I highly recommend checking out the beautiful and sometimes overwhelmingly decorated private homes in Dyker Heights and Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. The most famous area is between 80st and 86th Street, between 10th and 13th Ave. 84th Street seems to be of biggest interest.
Here are a couple of links to check out:
I also recommend to pass by a 4-story building on 14th Ave btw. 71 and 72nd Street (see below). This building is decorated from top to bottom, flashing everywhere. You can even hear music playing.
I'm very sorry I have to cancel the last meetup for this year. I hope we can pick up with better weather in the new year. Please stay tuned and have a wonderful Holiday season. Thank you all for being part of this meetup group and for your support during the last year.
