Valentine Beer & Chocolate Brunch & Exchange

What is Valentine's Day without chocolate (and beer and yarn and cool company and beer)?

Join us for a chocolate and beer brunch at Argyle Yarn Shop in Brooklyn. Argyle has a great selection of yarn and notions and a big back room to celebrate (better to buy yourself a Valentine's gift)! If you wish to join for the afternoon you need to bring the following ($10 and under): A beer, chocolate and some kind of knitting/crocheting notion to exchange. Also, bring a drink to share with the group (beer, wine, or another beverage), light snacks will be provided.

Email or call (347/[masked]) Amy with any questions.

Hope to see you there!

I keep meaning to post this - I didn't realize till I got home that my valentine was actually milk (stout) and cookies (home made and delicious) - very clever and cute :) Thank you Amy, Catrin and everyone for the great company.

The biscuits, IPA cookies and rice crispy treat recipes are on the discussion board. Look under the Beer and Alcohol Infused Recipe discussion. Enjoy!

Amy outdid herself once again. Amazing spread of tasty treats. Thank you to my Val Pal, Jill, for the yarn, alcoholic ginger beer, and chile-chocolate! I heart my gifts!

I will be 40 minutes late - I have a gift to exchange and some barley wine to share. Sorry. I won't mind being my own valentine if I miss the exchange, but I hope not to!

Ironically, the below travel changes will likely get people to Argyle faster although it is a bit fidgety. Once you are there, the following will await you: beer, Belgian IPA Cookies, Gingersnaps, beer, chocolate, veggies, hummus, some beer biscuits, cheese, beer, chocolate covered strawberries, and a couple other things I can conjure up before noon. Oh, and there is quite the a lot of yarn and notions to purchase if you so desire. See you this afternoon!

It is a lovely and cold day in Brooklyn, should make for a nice afternoon of drinking, shopping and hanging out at Argyle. A couple things may slow up your travel today. Please check the MTA Weekender site if you need help getting to Argyle. Manhattan bound trains from 15th St Prospect Park are running regularly. The nearest subway stop to Argyle is the 15th Street Prospect Park Station (F/G Lines) also the B61 and B68 stop there.

Coney Island-bound trains run express from Jay St-MetroTech to Church Av from Fri to Mon, Feb 1 - 4

F Trains stop at 7 Av. (YOU CAN WALK TO ARGYLE FROM HERE, BUT TODAY IT WILL BE A BIT BRISK. YOU CAN ALSO TRANSFER TO THE B61 towards 15th St Prospect Pk.

For service on the F to 15 St-Prospect Park, take the F to Church Av and transfer to a Jamaica-bound F train (WHICH WILL STOP AT 15th ST-PROSPECT AVE.) Notes: NO G SERVICE AT THESE STATIONS.

AFTER YOU GET OFF THE SUBWAY OR BUS, walk SOUTH to 288 Prospect Park West (bet. 17th St & 18th St).

Hello All-I am excited for tomorrow! Let me know if you have any questions about the exchange or event. I will be bringing a bottle opener in the event we all wish to break into our gifts. We will plan to do the exchange around 1:30ish. So there is plenty of time to enjoy our gifts, do some shopping, and hang out before we need to head out at 3pm. Reminder-in addition to your gift bring something sippable to share with the group. I don't believe there is a fridge at the space so, if your beverage(s) need to be refrigerated to be immediately enjoyed please do so before. See you tomorrow!

I can't come until 1:30, are you doing the exchange first? If so, I'll just bring some chocolate and beer to share, but I'll plan on not "exchanging" and wrapping

The exchange: If you bring a gift, you get a gift. Your gift must include at least one beer and some chocolate and if you haven't reached your $10 mark yet, throw in some kind of knitting or crocheting notion. Let me know if you have any questions.

Please also make sure your gift is wrapped. Wrapping makes everything more fun!

Awesome! What a great idea! Also, never heard that alternate name before--happy it wasn't called that at the office holiday party.

I just googled it. Yes, Yankee Swap Style, because
calling it Dirty Santa on Valentine's Day would just not do.
