Re: [NYC-Pints-N-Purls] Knitpicks security breech, check your CCs

There was a security breech at Industry Standard Software which is a credit card software used by many different websites.  Knitpicks happens to be one of their customers but it could happen on other websites that use the same plug in.

Just keep an eye on your bank statements!  It's not just Knitpicks.

Not sure if it's related, but I also had my credit card information stolen recently. I order a ton of stuff online, though, including KnitPicks, so I can't be sure if that's what it was. But definitely something to consider. My password has been changed. Thanks for the tip!

Hi all.
Just wanted to give a head's up for anyone who has purchased anything from KnitPicks in the past 2-3 years. They had a major security breech where customer information was compromised, and they've been terrible about telling people.
Bank of America called me because someone tried to charge several $1 purchases and a hotel room in Arkansas on my card. Thankfully they flagged immediately and sent a new card. I know several knitters across the country who have purchased from KnitPicks in the past few years and have found themselves battling fraudulent charges on their cards in the past 2 months. Supposedly the company mailed letters in February to those impacted, but I don't know of anyone who received one. I didn't. I don't order many things online, and I haven't heard of any issues with Amazon or the Gap, so I'm pretty sure my issue was KnitPicks.
If you have ordered anything from KP in the past 3 years, I would urge you to check your statements for suspicious activity.
