Discuss ideas for the growth, development and expansion of our group.

Let's have an open dialogue to create strategies of how to best grow our ethical business agenda; in NYC and beyond. If you know media people, please invite them, since there has been little coverage (so far) of moral elements within the corporate sphere. We need to realize that the Right has organized and strategized for decades to shift public opinion, both within and without corporate America, in their favor. I suggest also to read Michael Lerner's NSP (Network of Spiritual Progressives) proposal for a new bottom-line in our society, one that values the expansion not simply of money and power, but also of love, kindness, compassion, and generosity, in addition to environmental sanity and ecological sensitivity. The ESRA amendment to the constitution, proposed by Dennis Kucinich, would help codify these values into law. Most crucially, simply by meeting, we keep hope alive that a kinder, more caring and democratic corporate culture can replace the current selfish model that values profits over people; and is wreaking destruction to both human beings and the environment. Progressive, forward-thinking business people, activists, political leaders, journalists, and other intellectuals welcome.

This was an amazing event! Interestingly, though nobody from Meetup came, and I sat there alone for about 15 minutes, I wound up meeting 2 people (both potential business prospects!) just by having my little sign on the table that said "Progressive Business Network." What this tells me is that when you gear yourself into the world with an ethical project, the universe has a way of getting on your side; opening unexpected doors of hope. I feel better about this project than ever. It's not the quantity of the people that matters so much as the quality of the conversations. Eventually, I believe this will grow and become huge. There is so much nihlism and cynicism within the corporate arena, that people are hungering for real hope and change.
