The 2014 Gotham Ruby Conference (GORUCO) will be held Saturday, June 21 2014 in New York City and is accepting talk proposals at http://bit.ly/goruco-.... Proposals are due by 11:59:59.0 PM ET on March 14th, 2014.
GORUCO is a one-day, single-track technical conference attended by motivated programmers. With 250 attendees and hundreds more watching the live stream, this is a great speaking opportunity for any technologist!
We will be accepting two talk formats:
* 30 minute full-length talks, plus Q&A... or
* 10 minute micro-talks
All speakers will receive free attendance to the event. In addition those speakers selected for a full-length talk will receive:
* A $300 honorarium
* A $600 travel reimbursement if you live outside of the tri-state region
GORUCO believes in highlighting local talent and we reserve at least two slots for local speakers.
In the past, these slots have been less competitive than the other talk slots, so if you live in the tri-state region we strongly urge you to submit a proposal.
We're interested in talks on Ruby, but also topics that would of interest to the modern development community.
Examples could include Go, Clojure, JS MVC Frameworks, Docker, RaspberryPi / Arduino, DevOps, language implementation, CS theory, or something else.
Does your coffee maker issue RESTful web services? Tell us. Have you written a killer app in COBOL? No. No you haven’t.
Finally, we will be recording all of the talks and making the videos freely available online. You should be okay with this if you are submitting a talk.
In order to ensure that GORUCO is a welcoming and safe conference, all attendees and speakers are expected to abide by our Code of Conduct.
Please make sure that your talk proposal and materials respect this.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us at email@example.com and make sure you follow us on Twitter at @goruco for more updates.
Again, Please submit all proposals at http://bit.ly/goruco-... by 11:59:59.0 PM ET on March 14th, 2014.
Thanks, and we’re looking forward to seeing you in June!
