LOGLINE: Shakespeare’s greatest tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, is updated to the streets of Manhattan's Lower East Side in 1911 where ruthless factory owners and union organizers wage a bloody war against each other. Interwoven in the melee is the story of young lovers: Yelena, who is just off the boat from the Ukraine, and Carlo, a young Italian immigrant. As their journey revolves around a compelling cast of characters and events, the backdrop of the story is the fire at the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory and the tragic destiny that awaits the star-crossed lovers.
