This month, we have Dan Spinosa talking about the code and engineering behind his new startup Shelby.tv.  They are using node.js, true multithreaded Ruby (1.9.2), beanstalk, and mongo, along w/ a lot of custom code that they are (or have) open sourced.

    Thanks for giving us a peek inside Shelby.tv. Regarding future plans for collaborative filtering, you might want to consider the API from Hunch.com. Given their proximity, it seems like it would be a good match. I'd be glad to discuss this with you guys.
