This group's primary focus is to help (screenwriters, fiction writers and playwrights too but all types are welcomed) writers advance their skills, share their work, become inspired by writing prompts and get feed back in the room. As well to be an open and helpful way for writers to network with other writers, filmmakers and producers as well.

I, Spencer David, have been writing for many years - honing my craft. I started screenwriting as at age eleven, and for nearly that long I've been learning and working on the many ideas I have in my Mind's eye. I've tried on many Occasions to write an epic novel, but, it seems a task too large for me to get at maybe with this group they can help keep me on track and towards my dream of a completed novel sooner then later? Screenwriting is simple and finite unlike the massive world one must set forth to a reader on the pages of a novel.

I hope through this group we can grow as friends, help encourage fantastic works we knew and didn't know we have inside us all. To let us help the world see our works in one way or another. For isn't the goal of writing to entertain, motive, or enlighten? Without people to see said works we will never be of any meaning "our works"!

"Together we can get along stronger then alone!"

As some once said,"Writing is taking the letters of the alphabet and mixing them around a thousand times."

“Every idea is a juxtaposition. That’s it. A juxtaposition of existing concepts.”
Steven Grant

"Who wants to become a writer? And why? Because it’s the answer to everything. … It’s the streaming reason for living. To note, to pin down, to build up, to create, to be astonished at nothing, to cherish the oddities, to let nothing go down the drain, to make something, to make a great flower out of life, even if it’s a cactus.”
—Enid Bagnold

“Cheat your landlord if you can and must, but do not try to shortchange the Muse. It cannot be done. You can’t fake quality any more than you can fake a good meal.”
—William S. Burroughs

“We are all apprentices in a craft where no one ever becomes a master.”
—Ernest Hemingway

“Every secret of a writer’s soul, every experience of his life, every quality of his mind, is written large in his works.”
—Virginia Woolf

“Making people believe the unbelievable is no trick; it’s work. … Belief and reader absorption come in the details: An overturned tricycle in the gutter of an abandoned neighborhood can stand for everything.”
—Stephen King

Meetup has allowed me to meet people I wouldn't have met naturally - they're totally different than me.
