Come celebrate your right to love and be part of a discussion on LGBT Rights as Human Rights! Make A Date with New York City-Young Professionals of Amnesty International (NYC-YPAI) for our second event in our human rights series! We'll grab a drink and talk about the status of DOMA, DADT and examine human rights violations affecting the LGBT community on a global scale.
By the end of the night, we will take action on several Amnesty International cases relating to human rights abuses against LGBT people, including DOMA and DADT.
WHEN: Wednesday, February 15, 2012. Doors open at 6:30pm. Program begins at 7pm.
WHERE: Lolita Bar on the Lower East Side (266 Broome St.)
COST: Suggested donation is $5. Happy hour prices start at $3 (including $5 margaritas). If you order the Amnesty drink special, part of the proceeds will go back to NYC-YPAI for future events!
* Please note that Lolita only accepts CASH and AMEX!

We will also have performances by:
Kelli Dunham, Comedian - Kelli Durham, Comedian - She’s an author of four humorous non-fiction books, and a gently edgy comic who can entertain folks at Citibank corporate headquarters one day and make the attendees at the Beltane Pagan Sexuality Conference laugh the next.
Alison Grillo, Comedian - Alison Grillo is New York City's Woman Trapped Inside a Woman's Body. A stand-up comic with a unique story and an off-beat style, Alison has been seen on NBC's Last Comic Standing and cited by The Advocate magazine as one of "Seven LGBT Comics You Should Not Have Missed in 2011."
Athens Boys Choir, Spoken Word Artist - The name Athens Boys Choir can be a bit deceiving but you can't blame a Jewish Transsexual man living in the Deep South for having a sense of humor about the whole ordeal.
We would like to thank Lolita Bar for opening up their space to us for our second event with them.
We look forward to seeing you there!
P.S. There will be yummy drink specials and lots of delicious chocolate (no heart-shaped boxes, we promise!)
