NYC Young Professionals Amnesty International Message Board › POSTPONED: Freedom of Expression in 140 Characters or Less
New York, NY
In light of Georgia's denial of clemency for Troy Davis, we will be postponing our event "Freedom of Expression in 140 Characters or Less". Amnesty International USA has worked on behalf of Troy since 2007, and the incredible public outcry generated around his case calls for us to continue our work up until the final moments.
Across the country, we will be holding vigils around 7pm—the time at which Troy is scheduled to be executed. In New York City, our vigil is tentatively scheduled to take place at St. Mary's Episcopal Church (521 W. 126th Street). For updates on this vigil, please see the Facebook event: http://www.facebook.com/#!/event.php?eid=201258183274523
We will keep you updated on the new date for "Freedom of Expression in 140 Characters or Less". Thank you for your understanding and support. We hope to see you soon.
