SCHEHERAZADE, TELL ME A STORY film screening and fundraiser

The African Diaspora International Film Festival (ADIFF), Turning Point for Women and Families, and the Progressive Muslim Meetup cordially invite you to the film screening of

SCHEHERAZADE, TELL ME A STORY

At the 20th Annual ADIFF

Purchase Tickets Here

The film screening is a fundraising event to support community services provided by Turning Point for Women and Families, a non-profit organization, to Muslim women and children who are victims of domestic violence and child abuse in New York City. As noted by the Executive Director of Turning Point Robina Niaz, “domestic violence transcends culture and religion and is stigmatized and under-reported in all communities. However, for the Muslim community, this issue is compounded even further by racial profiling, hate crimes and forced detentions, making many in our community fearful of accessing services from mainstream organizations.”

Yousry Nasrallah’s Scheherazade, Tell Me A Story is about a female talk show host who researches and discusses women’s stories that reveal the human condition of women in Egypt. Well acted and with a script that gives a very clear depiction on how power operates in Egypt, Scheherazade Tell Me A Story—a Box Office success in Egypt—speaks to the world of dissent in Islamic-oriented societies

I think it should be at the teacher's college. There are guards to the entrances were you can ask for info, but I'm on my way now and can post the answer when I have it.
