Hi David, great talk! When shelling out, are you calling Go code from C and C from Ruby? Do you have any recommended resources for writing ruby extensions in Go.

Fortunately it is much simpler than that. Go compiles to native binaries - no C involved (at least not directly). So for this technique, you are not writing extensions really, you are writing native programs that you will all with something like Open3.capture3 "your command"

This was my first meeting, and it was great.
To the faithful: I will be talking tonight about Concurrency in Ruby and Go as applied to ETL processes.
Thanks for the talk! It's made me excited about Go and pushed it to the top of my "Languages to Learn" lis, if I ever take a break from Ruby of course :)
