Forgive me for shameless advertising. I am teaching a RoR for Developers class @ GeneralAssemb.ly in January. It's almost full, but there're a few spots left.
Pass it to your programmer friends that are stuck doing C#/Java/APL @ the Megacorp.
It's a 6-week thing, twice a week for a couple of evening hours. We're going to assume you know how to program, do a quick intro to git, learn enough Ruby to be dangerous, build a rack application followed by a rails application from scratch. There will be lots of TDD/BDD, real world experiences and, hopefully, an open-source project that the class will collaborate on.
Also, if you have any good ideas about topics that programmers learning Ruby / Rails would want to cover, I'd be very happy to hear some suggestions!
cheers
dB.
