Do you like food AND the internet?
Do you support small farms?
Do you believe in buying local?
Then come work with us at FarmersWeb!
FarmersWeb is a New York based eCommerce platform that connects local farmers and producers with local wholesale buyers. The goal of FarmersWeb is to increase market access and efficiency for both farms and buyers, which in turn will enable more local food to reach the end customer.
Seeking a mid level full-stack web developer with a few years of coding under their belt!
This is a full time contract role for a minimum of 3 months with the possibility of renewal and continual full time work after the contract.
The FarmersWeb web application is undergoing a ground up rewrite. Though the current codebase is on the LAMP stack, we're over half way complete with a switch to Rails. You'll be working in a small development team lead by two senior level developers and the CTO.
The senior devs and CTO have been in the game for a long, long time, and we need another team member that is ready to dive in and hit the ground running. Our team will be moving quickly so it's very important for you to be a self-starter and be able to run with a quick/lean analysis & design and get down to coding. As such, we are looking for someone with at least a few years of professional software experience that is looking to improve their skills and work with a talented team.
FarmersWeb is run by a small core of motivated techies and non techies alike, all of whom work out of a open, shared office space in Chelsea. For now, working on site is mandatory, though somewhere down the road you may be able to work from home.
If you are interested, get in touch, send us a resume and a little about why you are a great fit for us. We look forward to working with you!
