At first, thank you guys to reply and show that we are a community that help each other, even with advice or real opportunities.

I understand the point of view of everyone and I do not feel injured with any question; I actually think as professionals we are, we must be prepared to respond to any situation(or question) in our works, even if the answer is "I am not or I do not know the answer".

Therefore, anyone who wants to continue this(or any other) conversation, we can talk personally through email.

Best,

This begs the question, what exactly does an internship represent?  Internships, to me, are a vehicle for students to apply knowledge, build relationships in your company, and feel confident of their skills.  I do not expect those skills will already be part of their toolkit.  The technology field can often thrive on the notion that throwing people into the deep end has success through smarts or intelligence.  However, it usually only shows off the talents of individuals who, often times, are given an edge.  It also tends to have the consequence of poorly crafted products that require more technical oversight later.

The topic may be an offline discussion, but I am happy to see students being confident enough to ask a large group for a conversation.

Cheers,
Chad
