NYC ASL is a social/conversation group for Deaf, hard of hearing and students of American Sign Language - All are welcome. We meet 3 times a week in Manhattan(see schedule for times and location) for silent conversation and casual instruction. A regular Brooklyn meet-up is planned for the near future see our sister group http://www.meetup.com/The-Brooklyn-American.... Members also attend signed cultural programs and events (museum tours, poetry slams, Happy Hour, etc.) throughout the year. See our Calendar.
Our membership includes Deaf and hard of hearing, as well as students of sign. All levels of ASL are welcome and encouraged to participate, however you should be familiar with the ASL alphabet at a minimum. If you are new to this beautiful and expressive language or would like to learn more about ASL and Deaf culture, we hope you will avail yourself of some of these resources.
Barnes & Noble Union Square is offering us a place to meet.
