Dear NYC BigApps Meetup Group Members,

NYC BigApps 2013 has launched!

This year there are $150,000 in cash prizes, a new focus on BigIssues, and a new website and platform to help you team up with amazing developers, designers, writers, scientists, artists and more and build great apps. Go check out the new events, prizes, features, rules and more at!

We've also got two amazing events happening this week! RSVP today!

  • The Jobs and Economic Mobility Meetup at Robin Hood Foundation - This Wednesday, April 10, from 6:30-9pm - RSVP at This event features leading experts working to solve challenges related to unemployment, income mobility, and workforce development. Attendees will learn about this BigIssue, discuss potential technology solutions, and uncover pertinent data and resources to help solve these issues.
  • The Dava Visualization Evening at Huffington Post - This Thursday, April 11, from 6:30-9pm - RSVP at Featuring John Pavley, CTO of Huffington Post; Alexander Chen, Creative Director at Google Creative Lab; Lauren Talbot, Chief Programmer at the Mayor's Office of Analytics of the City of New York; Neil Freeman, Artist and Urban Planner; Gena Wirth, SCRAPE and Public Laboratory; and Chris Whong, NYU Public Policy Master's student.
