Over the years, art has been full of renderings of the nude body, paintings and drawings as well as some modern photography. Art classes regularly bring in nude models for subject matter to practice art in the forms of drawing and painting. We are going to take it a step further than boudoir photography and bring in a nude model to practice some fundamental aspects of nude photography. You may ask, why nude photography as opposed to boudoir? Many product companies run nude ads when they are advertising something like, a piece of jewelry, a new purse or some other type of accessory where they do not want the clothing of a model to distract from the importance of the product they are trying to market. In this Workshop, you will learn about background setups, how to light the body – sunlight vs. studio light, choosing the right model, preparing the model, learning how to make the model feel relaxed, getting the best and most flattering poses, black and white vs. color and other tricks of the trade and of course, professional demeanor. It is very important that you are taking this class for the right reasons, professional reasons, so please do not sign up if you are not interested in learning the techniques above.
Requirements: Bring your camera and a pen and a notebook to take notes. Brandon will provide all other equipment.
