Here is some information about the Japan manga series I was telling you all about at the November beverages meetup. It's pretty awesome that this exists in the world...
Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture
Moyashimon: Tales of Agriculture - known in Japan as Moyashimon (もやしもん?), is a manga series created by Masayuki Ishikawa. The series follows Tadayasu Sawaki, a first-year college student at an agricultural university, who has a unique ability to see and communicate with bacteria and other micro-organisms. Additionally, these organisms look much different to him, and much larger, than what can be seen under a microscope by normal people. Tadayasu enters the university with his good friend Kei Yūki whose family runs a sake brewery.
Non-human characters in the series include:
Aspergillus oryzae (A.オリゼー A. orizē?)Voiced by: Yumi Touma
A. oryzae is the main character of the micro-organisms side.
