I was not happy at all. I have been a journalist/publisher in NYC for more than 50 years. The O'Dwyer Co. has six major informational products of use to journalists and I wanted to tell the group about them. One is the largest PR library (700 volumes) plus 12 years of archived stories and databases on our website, which is accessed in more than 140 countries. We can be of help to journalists. I especially want the journalists to read NYT columnist David Carr's complaint that journalists are busting on one another. http://tinyur.com/m46j4vz. Another NYT column tells of jailed Liberian journalist Rodney Sieh. http://tinyurl.com/ky2l69d. I was shut down from the moment I arrived, told that this was a "social event" and no business or journalism allowed. I had a hand-out but only gave it to one person who knew the O'Dwyer Co. I hardly knew who anyone was since name tags were not ready. Blank ones were eventually put on a table with a magic marker. They were supposed to stick but fell off.
