I like to lie, cheat and steal... and improv lets me do all these things without fear of reprieve. LOL, ok, I'm kidding. But I really do love improv. I enjoy winging it without a script. I think I enjoy the combination of creativity, fear and humility... and the duality of being totally independent, yet relying on your partners / teammates, and in turn, protecting and filling in your your teammates when needed. I did stage acting for years, and I discovered that I could totally carry a scene when someone lost their lines or got confused. I was always able to stay in character, sense other actors troubles, and cue them to get back on track. My own mother recognized this and signed me up for an improv class in Florida, while I was in highschool. I was eternally grateful to her, as I immediately took to it, and before long they invited me to join their traveling troupe (in spite of the fact that I was 20+ years younger than anyone in the group).
Yes, I was in a traveling improv troupe in the 90's. We played bars and clubs, etc.
I'm a creative geek, I majored in theatre & english and was in a traveling improv troupe. but have avoided the stage for nearly 15 yrs. The love of my life brought me back to it.
It's more fantastic than I could have imagined. I am mucho appreicative of Christine for dragging me out to it.
