Many of us have asked for casual, unstructured time to meet other members and, well, simply schmooze. I've been struggling to find the right time to launch this noble adventure, and suddenly it hit me - MANHATTANHENGE! It only happens twice a year, and it's happening this Sunday. (I realize this is short notice, but... what the hey...)

Here's the plan. We'll dine at a midtown Manhattan sushi buffet (replete with hot dishes, salads, fruits, desserts, and other treats). Cost per person is about $40, a little but more if you order a drink. (Please come equipped with exact change. No complicated settlement procedures - it's a meal, not a derivatives trade!) Once dinner is over, we can spill out into the street and throw ourselves into the path of oncoming traffic to experience the splendor of MANHATTANHENGE! No joke - I do this every year, and I haven't been flattened out yet.

PLEASE reserve ONLY if you are sure you can join us. The name and address of the restaurant will be provided to you when you sign up, since walk-ins would be a hassle for the restaurant.

Here's some more about MANHATTANHENGE, in case you think I'm making this stuff up:
