I am pleased to announce a great charity event that is being organized by NYC Live Music Meetup member Drew Belani. For the past four years Drew has worked for Axis Magazine and the Florida Music Festival as Director of Marketing. He has personally worked with such acts as the Fugees, Sean Paul, Blue Man Group, Bon Jovi, and many more on a wide variety of projects. Axis Magazine has a talent division that helps promote musical acts, and they have worked closely with bands such as Creed and Matchbox 20. At this charity event we will experience the music of Million Year Echo, an up-and-coming acoustic rock band that recently signed with Sony BMG. Million Year Echo has played at the House of Blues and other major venues and has opened for a number of national touring acts. The band (and Drew Belani) are all University of Central Florida alumni, and they will be playing for free to support a fellow UCF alumnus who was involved in a tragic accident. There is a suggested donation of $5 at the door, the first 150 people who make a donation at the door will receive a free Million Year Echo CD. Sadly, her husband Rich passed instantly. Angela survived the impact, but suffered severe head trauma and serious brain injury, and is still on the road to recovery. As her health continues to improve each day, her positive outlook on life and ability to make everyone in her life smile is a true testament to who she is as a person and how lucky we are to have her in our life.
