Bike Maintenance 101

Hello fellow MTBers! We will be holding a completely new type of event for our group. Thanks to the guys at Sid's Bikes on the west side we will be co-hosting a two-part bike maintenance clinic. The sign-ups are separate and you don't have to go to the first to attend the second. The first one will be general bike maintenance 101. Everyone is welcome of course, but this will definitely be more focused for the newer members of the group who are just buying, or haven't had a bike for too long. Some topics we are hoping to cover are: - Checking tire pressure, fixing flats, identifying tire wear - How to clean and lube your chain - Saddle height and angle - Hydration and nutrition We will be meeting at 6:45 and
the session will start promptly at 7. Please don't bring your bikes. They will have bikes there to demonstrate on. If there are additional topics you would like to have covered that are not on the list, please feel free to email an organizer and we will let you know if it will be covered at the next clinic. If this proves to be popular and fills up fast, we will work on hosting additional sessions.

Mechanics weren't that sharp. Didn't relate to tatoos and hairstyles. My problem.

Larry and Pete at Sids are great. Very informative session even for old know-it-all broken down mountain bikers like me. ;-)

It was great especially for beginners. Certainly some tips that would help on the trail.

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
