Hi everyone,
I am looking for a new vet for my pug, Bourne. He is now seeing the vets at Heart of Chelsea Animal Hospital, but I find that it is a bit too far (I'm in the 40s on the west side). I also read some reviews online that they tend to gouge people on prices and tack on unnecessary proceedures. Also, I almost had to take him in once for an emergency at night and they said they would charge me an extra $100. I don't really know if that's normal or not, but it seems excessive for an emergency when you are already freaking out about what to do. I selected Heart of Chelsea because they said they had vets who practiced holistic medicine, which I do some of for Bourne, when it makes sense. It would be good to find a vet who understands that and is not always going to recommend the most invasive treatment. Any suggestions? Thanks, Li Jun |

I can only speak to the care of my pug Annabelle at the Westside Vet. Center at 220 W. 83rd. St. (bet. B'Way and Amsterdam) by Dr. Kim Rosenthal. This vet apparently has a good deal of experience with pugs and is excellent with my little girl.
