Re: [NYCPugMeetupGroup] Is it a pimple?

I agree the picture looks more like a wart than a pimple.  My pug Miles occasionally gets a pimple near his top lip that is smaller and pink.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to have your vet check it out.
Agreed on stainless steel bowls for keeping clean.

Hi Pokie,

Thanks for posting the pic of you're baby's pimple.  It does NOT look like a regular pimple that pugs may get around their mouth/chin area.  The pimple that some pugs may get are more rounder and flatter in shape and the color may be like a regular pimple that human's get (more darker pink close to a red color).  The color of the bump in your picture does not look like a pimple.  This looks like a wart (warts protrude out of the skin and has a cauliflower shape, like human warts) or it could be a cyst or something else.  I would definitely bring your baby to a vet as soon as possible since you said it's been a few weeks and getting bigger.  In the meantime, use stainless steel bowls and keep your dog away from other animals and don't touch that area of his mouth because if it is a wart, you don't want to spread it anywhere else in his body.  Good luck and let us know how your baby does.

Thanks,
Bacon

Hello
all!
Thanks SO much for getting back to
us.
What we are worrying is that it seems
getting bigger and it's been couple of weeks already.
I'm not sure if the photo were sent via the emails. Here
is the link to it just in case,https://www.dropbox.com/s/m240x5d1dupi3wo/photo-7%202.JPG
Thank you all

Hi Pokie,

My 4-year old pug frequently gets "pimples"
near his mouth and under his chin.  Sometimes they will
grow in size and become a little red, but they usually go
away within a few weeks.  I don't think they are
anything to be concerned about, I'm pretty sure it's
typical of the breed.  Of course, it's always safe
to go to the vet to get it checked out.  But I
don't think there is any need for you to worry, my
dog's vet has never been concerned about his
"pimples".

Let me know if you have any questions!

Hello everyone,

Recently my 9 month old Freckles has this pimple near
her mouth... It's getting a bit bigger this week.
I'm worried about I'm planing to bring her to get it
check out on Friday... I'm just curious if anyone would
know if this is just a pimple or something else I should be
worry about? Thanks all! :)

Best,
Pokie
