Department: Benefits Manager

Description:
§ Responsible for directing and planning day-to-day operations of all group benefit programs?group health, dental, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, Basic Life & AD&D, worker's compensation, travel and accident plan, flexible spending account plans, and 401(k) plan.
§ Develop goals and objectives for the benefits department that are aligned with corporate goals.
§ Conduct and implement New Benefit Orientation and Annual Open Enrollment.
§ Design, plan, and implement corporate benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Responsible for ensuring programs meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and are cost effective with broker.
§ Partner with broker to analyze and evaluate benefit programs, vendors, cost out plans, negotiate fees and make presentations to Top Management.
§ Monitor benefit surveys and formulate recommendations for plan design changes.
§ Responsible for health plan vendor account reconciliation, invoice approval and monthly audit of billing back-up, as well as eligibility issue resolution.
§ Responsible for supporting Compliance & Reporting: Summary Plan Description, 5500 IRS preparation, ERISA, HIPPA, OSHA and Annual 401k Nondiscrimination Testing.
§ Coordinate all external and internal plan audits; work with legal, finance and payroll.
§ Coordinate all aspects of the 401k retirement plan, which includes rollovers, 401(k) loans and refunding of excess contributions.
§ Administer all LOA, FMLA, which includes paid and unpaid leaves?provide written communication to employees, collect and review all documents and assure proper compliance with state law and company policy.
§ Manage FSA Accounts?employees do not exceed Cafeteria limits, elections have proper supporting documentation.
§ Manage and administer Short-term disability, Long-term disability and Worker?s Compensation.
§ Oversee COBRA administration and ensure compliance with applicable laws.
§ Ensure maintenance of current benefits data in HRIS, compile ad-hoc reports from HRIS system on enrollment, eligibility and other benefits information.
§ Ensure the consistent application of benefits policies, procedures and guidelines, as well as compliance with all federal and state laws and regulatory requirements.
§ Act as primary point of contact with Payroll in resolving benefits issues.
§ Provide assistance to employees on benefit issues/questions.
§ Develop and implement benefit education and communication plans for optimum plan utilization.
§ Stay current on pertinent benefits issues, competitive practices, new products and services.
§ Maintain flexibility to take on additional responsibilities, as needed.

Required Skills:

§ Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
§ Considerable knowledge of benefit structures and applicable laws.
§ At least 3-5 years of benefits experience.
§ Knowledge of ERISA, DOL, IRS regulations, HIPAA, COBRA, Worker?s Compensation and Section 125.
§ Knowledge of ADP?s HRIS system.
§ Positive attitude and team orientation.
§ Ability to inform, educate, and influence team to support goals and initiatives.
§ Must work well under deadlines, possess strong multi-tasking skills, and must have strong customer service skills.
§ Excellent skills in Excel and Word.
§ Requires a four-year degree or higher
