What would you like to get out of NYC Socrates Cafe? How would you define a good conversation?

Some good ideas and good dialogue.

Tell us a little bit about yourself

I've lived in New York City for about six months now. Before that, I was getting my Masters in Education in Boston, and before that, attending college at Bard College in upstate New York. I love teaching, and thinking about teaching, but I want to get out of that circle now and again as well.

What specific topic questions would you like to see discussed in this group?

What qualities does one see in a good society? What is the individual's obligation to others? To society over all? How can we healthily recognize privilege?

Would you like to hold your own conversations in public areas on a routine basis? Please contact the Organizer at

Hello I'm finishing my first year in the Bronx, and I'm hoping to meet other thoughtful people in the city.
