'Tis the season...
... to start using RSVPs. After two straight weeks of poor Sunday turnout and with daytime temperatures headed towards the freezing mark, it seems like a good time to start RSVPing to make sure there's a game. Also, if we use the RSVPs, perhaps we won't lose a few dedicated players to the winter league. Low turn out is a catch-22 that way.The Current RSVP Policy
(subject to change):1) Please RSVP.
2) On Saturdays, assume twice as many people who RSVP will show.
2a) That doesn't mean you shouldn't RSVP on Saturdays.
3) On Sundays, only assume that one or two more people than have RSVPed will show.
3a) Therefore, you should really, really RSVP for Sunday games.
4) If less than four people have RSVPed, especially on really bad weather days (bad weather means rain or sleet and maybe snow, but not cold; cold is nice weather), there will not be a game.
4a) If you think there might be a game but you are not sure, call the listed point person, if there is one, or nominate yourself as the point person and ask anyone interested to call to let you know if they are coming. (By the way, if you'd like to be a regular point person, email me or Damien and let us know.)
5) If you change your mind about coming, please change your RSVP.
6) Don't be a sissy.
Cold weather and snow make for awesome ultimate conditions. And we are so much more hardcore than other sports. And the winter league.
RSVPs are particularly important if people plan on playing the weekends of Christmas and New Year's, so get into the holiday spirit and come play ultimate!
