Saturday March 17th, I will be hosting a hat tournament in Riverside
Park to raise money for Claire Elizabeth. Claire was diagnosed with
Ewing Sarcoma, one of the most rare forms of bone cancer. Just over a
year old, Claire has already had her femur removed because of the
cancer. Besides the growing medical expenses, the family is trying to raise
enough money to have an air filtration system installed so she can stay
at home in between chemotherapy treatments without having to worry
about germs and if she will get sick. ALL the money we collect will be
donated to Claire.
The Hat Tournament will be on
the large soccer field in Riverside Park/107th street from 2pm through
sunset. Following the games will have a short walk to the Village
Pourhouse to begin a great night. The tournament fee is only $5 per
with a suggested donation of $5 which can be paid at the field, via PayPal or directly to http://www.gofundme.com/Cure4claire
Claire is the niece of Alex Matscherz, a close friend
and former teammate of mine back in Pittsburgh. I'm a big believer that
every little bit can help, so whatever you can donate is greatly
The schedule & rosters will be sent out the
Friday before. The tournament format will depend on number of
people/teams sign up. If you would like to sign up to play, just reply
back to me. If you're unable to make it next Saturday, but would still
like to donate feel free to use the link http://www.gofundme.com/Cure4claire.
If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me. Please forward along to friends & teammates!
Thanks & see you on the fields.
*A BIG THANKS TO ULTIMATE REC FOR DONATING THE FIELDS*
