Wine Bars: Honey and Terroir

Dear All,

Just a quick note on a couple of wine bars in case you're looking for new spots....

Yesterday's tasting was at Honey on 14th Street (betw 7th & 8th). The fondues were excellent. I would especially recommend White Cheddar and Tex Mex. The space is quite beautiful, geared to a young crowd with a bit of a loud music. (Nothing wrong with it if you like that sort of thing). The wine list could use a bit more expertise and attention but overall it is a nice place if you're looking for a spacious bar with good fondue and nice atmosphere.

After the event, I went to Terroir, the new wine bar owned by Paul Grieco and Marco Canora of Hearth. I arrived there at 10:30pm, and it was full of industry people. Just as I was going in, Tara Thomas, the Managing Editor of Wine & Spirits Magazine and Scott Pactor, the owner of Appellation Wines were coming out. I had a quick glass of Riesling at the bar and there were several familiar faces from wine industry around.

The wine list is fantastic and reflects the creativity of Paul Grieco, the food is as good as it gets and you know what I mean if you are a regular at Hearth.

It would have been great to have a Meetup at Terroir but it is far too small and it would be impossible for even 10 of us to get in at the same time after 6pm. But I hope you'll try it on your own and if you do, please make sure to send your comments to our mailing list.

You can see a very accurate and entertaining article about Terroir at:
