The New Orleans Heritage Music Festival (Jazzfest) is one of the most amazing experiences that you will ever have. This will be our 9th year going with the group! If you love music, food and fun times this is the one trip you have to make! We have a block of rooms reserved at the very nice Chateau Lemoyne located just one block of the famous Bourbon Street. The weekend will include the concerts, tours of the city, group dinners, clubbing, live music, sightseeing and more.
The festival features over 10 music stages on 145 acres that feature rock, pop, jazz, blues, reggae,R&B,Zydeco, gospel and more. There are also over 100 food vendors, arts and crafts tents and other fun distractions at the fairgrounds.
The concerts take place over Saturday and Sunday from noon till about 7pm. There are always at least 10 different concerts going on at once that you can wander in and out of. They always gave great headline acts. Springsteen, Bon Jovi, Billy Joel, Santana, Bonnie Raait, Jimmy Buffet, The Allman Brothers, The Black Crows, Aretha Franklin and, The Eagles are just some of the past BIG performers. This years music schedule has not been announced yet. You would go more for the whole experience than the artists. The other great thing about the festival is that there are probably 1,000 other live music opportunities to check out in and around town during the weekend.
During the weekend you can hang with the group, explore on your own or do a little of both. New Orleans has a rich and interesting history.

Is this like Mardi Gras? : No the Music Festival is like Mardi Gras Lite. It is not as crowded and not as crazy, definitely a more mature atmosphere. Although you can get as low key or crazy as you want.
I don't know anyone, will I feel comfortable? Absolutely! This trip always produces the best friendships and connections. If you are coming alone we will do our best to match you with someone in a room that is close to your personality.
What to wear: It is 80's during the day and 60's at night. Nothing fancy for this trip...shorts and flip flops :)
