They are the best cultural icon I can get at flea market for under five bucks. Also, they sound better than CDs, even with dust and surface noise.
Since the late '70's. Back when I had to walk ten miles uphill in both directions through the snow to pick up a 45.
Jazz, '70's rock, punk and post-punk, exotica, and instrumental things. Pretty eclectic overall.
I remember when I was a teenager and buying one LP a month was a big deal. Love it or hate it, that LP got played and played until it was committed to memory (and a cheap TDK cassette, if possible). Now, Music is still my main entertainment purchase.
