Announcing a new Meetup for The NYC Analog Apartment Meetup!
What: DeVore Fidelity Speakers Tour (Monkeyhaus event)
When: Friday, February 5,[masked]:00 PM
DeVore Fidelity Brooklyn Navy Yard
63 Flushing Ave. - Building 280 - 5th Floor, Suite 510
Brooklyn, NY 11205
I know this is on fairly short notice, but it's an event that I think would be great for the group.
It's called "Monkeyhaus". Monkeyhaus is an annual party held by Devore Fidelity where people come to hang out, chat, drink and listen to records.
Come and celebrate the first anniversary of Monkeyhaus next Friday February 5th. Rumors of high-speed turntables with RPMs nearing 80(!) have been overheard so if you'd like to bring speedy discs please do. Of course the usual slowpoke 33s and skippy little 45s are always welcome. Come after 6, directions below.

It's in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, and if you?re cabbing it the easiest gate to enter is at Flushing Ave. and Cumberland St. The approximate address of the gate is 63 Flushing Ave. Go in and ask for building 280 (it's right there) and come up to the 5th floor, suite 510. If it?s after 7pm, the Cumberland gate will be closed to cars and you?ll have to drive to Flushing and Clinton, a few blocks up Flushing towards Williamsburg.
Closest train is the F at York St. Get out of the station and head left, walk under the overpass and take a left on Sands (first light). Head down Sands until you can't head down Sands anymore. You'll be standing at the intersection of Sands and Navy, right at an entrance gate to the Brooklyn Navy Yard. If you?re standing there before 7pm on a weekday it?ll be open, go in and ask for directions to DeVore Fidelity in building 280. Come up the 5th floor, suite 510.
If it?s after 7pm, or a weekend, take a right here (on Navy St) and take your first left. This is Flushing Ave (and also Nassau, it changes names at Navy). To your left on this street will be the old Navy Yard, the first gate you reach on your left will be the correct one, at Cumberland. Give me a call (718)[masked] from the pedestrian turnstyle and I?ll come down and let you in.
Founded by president and chief designer John DeVore in 2000, DeVORE FIDELITY has gone on to receive universal acclaim for every one if its products, and John continues to push the state of the art in speaker design. John brought his 30 years of experience as a musician, 20 years of designing speakers and 18 years of Hi-Fi industry experience to his company, and, as the Stereophile Newsletter put it in 2005, "DeVore Fidelity is a young company, but at Home Entertainment Shows and CESes over the last half decade, its products have pulled down critical kudos and consumer raves that more established companies would kill for."
