Adam Rich (bio)
Adam Rich is the co-founder and editor-in-chief of Thrillist.com, overseeing all editorial content for the leading men’s multi-platform digital lifestyle publication. Since its launch in 2005, Thrillist has expanded into 20 markets in the U.S. and the U.K., plus a best-of-the-web Thrillist Nation edition, and now serves over 3 million subscriptions.
In 2010, Thrillist expanded its reach into e-commerce by acquiring members-only online retailer JackThreads.com and launching local experiences platform Thrillist Rewards. In 2012, the three companies converged to create “Thrillist Media Group” - a new media model allowing brands to reach its collective 4-million-strong audience of young guys both locally and nationally, online and offline, through content and commerce.
As a media industry expert, Rich has been a featured speaker at a multitude of conferences and panels, most recently at WSJ’s How I Built It Conference, Inc’s Helping Businesses Grow Healthy Conference, Mashable’sConnect Conference, Lucky’s Fabb Conference and DeSilva+Phillip’s Media Dealmaker’s Summit, among many others. Vin Vacanti (bio)
Vinicius Vacanti is co-founder and CEO of Yipit, where he is responsible for general and product management.
He left finance in the summer of 2007 with the ridiculous notion that he could build web products. It took him six months to realize he had no idea what he was doing. After a few days of soul searching, he decided to push forward spending the next 12 months learning to become an entrepreneur. The highlight (and often lowlight) of the journey was teaching himself to build websites (Python/Django).
Before working in finance, he graduated from Harvard College in 2003 with a degree in Applied Mathematics.
He is a mentor at TechStars. He shares the lessons he learned as a first-time entrepreneur on twitter and his blog: http://vacanti.me (source: crunchbase)
Dan Kurani (bio)
Prior to launching Thumb in 2010, Dan Kurani spent the last 10 years as President/CEO of Kurani Interactive, a digital development firm. Kurani helped Fortune 500 brands that included Nike and Universal Studios with web applications, mobile, and websites. Dan grew Kurani Interactive to $3 million in annual billings and architected a number of successful digital properties. He is the author of The Honey Pot, a strategy book that helps brands use digital innovation to generate revenue. Dan was recently tapped as a mentor for the upcoming inaugural NYC class at DreamIt Ventures, a start-up accelerator program. When not working, your best chance of finding him is floating somewhere in the Atlantic ocean. (source: thumb)
Andrew Wong (bio)
I am the founder of NY Entrepreneurs Business Network (NYEBN). The community grew to 5,000+ members within its first year. We’re now 11,000+ members on Meetup. NYEBN has the best startup events in NYC. And we serve the best interests for innovators in the business world.
I like building things that are innovative and have lasting value. I’m the Co-Founder and CEO of appommunity.com, an interest-based social network headquartered in NYC.
I grew up in Shanghai, China. Currently I reside in NYC. I enjoy the cultural diversity in the Big Apple. It’s also an awesome place to meet new people. Before I started my multiple ventures, I was a student at Kelley School of Business (Indiana), where I learned humanity, team work and the value of building businesses.
I like doing things slightly differently but more efficiently. Some words that can relate to me: Knicks, gym, beer, Apple, travel, cars, Internet, and technology. (source: ranwong.com)

I really enjoyed this event. Great speakers and audience. All 3 speakers are experts in what they do and very open to sharing their expertise. Andrew Wong asked great questions that matter most to start ups and each speaker shared their own perspective. I learned a lot. An all-around really well-organized event. Not mentioning all the great food and drink that was provided and plenty of time and opportunities it provided for networking.

Very good information. You may want to share with others that a lot of the advice shared is similar to the advice contained in the book "The Lean Startup". Attendees might find the book helpful as well.

Well put together and very well moderated. The host led the panelists through perceptive and useful thoughts.

I think as a general rule it would be best to save all audience questions and interruptions until the end, there is already time slotted for questions anyway and it slows down the flow to take questions after each topic AND the time is limited. I was unable to get my questions answered at the end of the topics AND at the general question portion of the event so I was disappointed but I noticed this at other meetups too. Also would be great if we could submit questions ahead of time so the panel is already addressing the audience, instead of having a loose dialogue with the moderator. FYI, is there a way I can submit questions now??

The discussion was lively, informative and to the point. The panelist were A++ and provided valuable insight. Vin Vacanti from Yipit was spot on. Andrew did a great job moderating and getting the most out of the panelist. Also as usual Andrew runs an efficient meeting keeping it on schedule and on focus.
