Understanding Today's LMS

  • September 18, 2012 · 7:00 PM

It's easy to believe with all the options out there that you may be a little confused about what exactly a Learning Management System (LMS) does and doesn't do at this point. We're bringing together an excellent group of companies to help us demystify the subject and better understand how to get more information into the hands of learners. This is one of the preeminent EdTech subjects especially as students become further empowered to be self-directed learners.

Please join us for presentations from:

* Rich Seidner of Desire2Learn

* Chris Edwards of Instructure

* Anthony Showalter of Haiku Learning

* Jeremy Friedman of Schoology

(Additional presenters may be forthcoming)

And of course, we would like to thank our gracious sponsor!!

The company behind Penguin Books, The Financial Times, The Economist, and multiple education businesses now has a develop platform! Build your own applications using Pearson's exciting content. Learn more at http://developer.pearson.com

As always we're following the conversation on #edtechnyc and you can follow us @NYEdTech.

    Hey Adam- what was the ed-tech MOOC (or was it a skillshare? I didn't quite catch it...) that you mentioned at the very end? I think Chris Edwards had also mentioned it in his presentation. Can you post info for the group? Thx.

    Great panel! Very interesting topic and their discussion has me thinking about how far education technology has come in my lifetime. (Yes, I was the person who mention Wang.)

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
