The New York Irish Center presents A Night of Irish Comedy & Music, its annual fund-raising gala event. Mundy, one of the top contemporary Irish singer-songwriters, is the music headliner and former SNL cast member Colin Quinn, handles the comedy portion of the evening along with MC and Late Show veteran Eddie Brill. There will also be a mystery special guest star.
If you're not sure who Mundy is, he's from Offaly and he sings this classic:
He also has done one of the better-known remakes of Galway Girl in recent years, even performing it for President Obama when he was in Ireland last year. And did I mention "Gin and Tonic Sky"?
This promises to be a fantastic evening of music and comedy celebrating the Irish and Irish-American traditions and it WILL sell out, so don't wait to buy tickets. Tickets are $80 for orchestra, $55 for balcony. I'm personally a big fan of the balcony seats at Symphony Space and recommend them. Like I said, the show will sell out fast so we can't reserve a block of tickets for the group. Get tickets on your own and we'll let you know about a pre- or post-show get-together. Given the early start time, I'm leaning towards the latter.
It's all for a good cause too as all proceeds benefit the New York Irish Center. See you there!
