Join us Wednesday evening, September 25th, at the well-known An Béal Bocht Pub & Cafe, in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, to listen to Maura read from her acclaimed memoir.
Maura is a beautiful writer and spent her summer honing her skills doing a writer's residence at the Tyrone Guthrie Center in County Monaghan.
Larry Kirwan (Black '47) and author of ROCKIN' THE BRONX, describes her memoir as "An essential, revealing chapter in the Irish-American story. The author opens a dusty window on a number of worlds. In clear, luminous prose, Maura tells a dry-eyed story of redemption that lifts both the heart and soul."
Maura has etched a notch for herself in the NYC Irish and Irish American community. Many of us, myself included, have been her students in her Irish language and Irish dance classes.
An Béal Bocht has a wonderful menu so we'll do our pre-meetup there as well for dinner and drinks.
There is no cost to attend.
Maura will have copies of her book available for sale.
