Hi everyone, I am looking forward to leading this group, and getting
to know all of you.
For our upcoming June meetup (date TBD) I would love to have 2 or 3
people give demos of transit related work they have done, so if you
have a cool transit app, visualization, or fascinating transit
research you want to demo please email me at [address removed]

> Hi all,
> I'm writing to let you know that I'm stepping down as the meetup
> organizer. I'm moving to California for the summer to start a
> company, and so it wouldn't be very practical for me to try to
> continue organizing a meetup in New York ;) Being part of this group
> has been a true pleasure for me, and I'm absolutely thrilled with
> the changes this group's hard work has helped bring about.
> The great news is that NY Open Transit Data meetup member, author of
> theNextTrain, and GTFS Data Exchange extraordinaire Jehiah Czebotar
> is taking over as the new meetup organizer. Jehiah is a long-time
> advocate of open data and has done a tremendous amount to make more
> transit data available. He'll be an awesome organizer and will bring
> new energy to the group.
> OpenPlans will continue sponsoring and hosting the meetup. This
> means we'll still have a beautiful space for our meetings, and free
> pizza and beer will continue to be a staple of the group.
> Keep on opening up that data and building awesome transit apps. I'll
> be back in NYC after the summer and will be excited to see the cool
> stuff this group's done.
