Tour Commercial Passive House Retrofit

An old 7000 SF (700 m2) masonry warehouse is being retrofit to serve as the main administration and dispatch building for Hatzolah Central, a non-profit ambulance service in Borough Park, Brooklyn. Learn about the challenges of building for resiliency post-Sandy, especially for an emergency response center.

This building is going for Passive House retrofit (EnerPHit) certification.

I got there very late, about 2:30PM, and couldn't gain entry. Was a blower test being done? Will there be another chance for a tour?

Hi Helen. Thank you for uploading the photos. I'm sorry you missed the tour. We put up a small sign at the entry during the blower door test, but I guess it wasn't visible enough. We will be conducting another blower door test Sunday morning. If you (or anyone else) is interested, please email me at [masked]
