Welcome to the 3rd Show&Tell of self-quantifiers in the NY area!
Please come and bring your self-tracking and self-experimenting projects. You and your applications, charts & graphs, spreadsheets, and biometric devices (bring your FitBits if you have them!). Art projects and practical solutions are all welcome.
We will have a social/networking hour from 6 pm to 7pm, followed by a series of short presentations that will last about 10 minutes each. 7 minutes to show & tell, 3 minutes for Q&A. After we run through all the presentations, we'll use the rest of the time for discussion. If you know you have something to show, please email me in advance what you'll be presenting and if you need any special equipment so that I can try to accommodate.
Our good friends at Smart Design have offered to host us at their spectacular space in the Starrett-Lehigh Building on 26th St. and the West Side Highway. Folks will need to show photo ID to enter the building and upon arrival at Smart will need to sign the following short confidentiality agreement:
We ask that you respect our confidentiality in friendly (and legally binding) way be agreeing that you will not divulge trade secrets or information about our operations that you learned during your visit.
Are you a videographer? We're looking for someone who can run the camera during the evening. Email me if you can help out.
Look forward to seeing you all there!
Steve
Regarding bikes from @_smartdesign...If bikes are foldable then they can be brought up in the passenger freight elevator to Smart. And if not, I would say have them check with the front reception desk when entering the building to see if the loading dock will be open when the event ends. They have bike racks there. And there are always bikes locked on poles out in front.
Re: bikes: with quick release wheels, that should count as foldable. Starting next month it will be illegal for them to tell you can't bring the bike up, thanks to the building bike access law. Yay, http://transalt.org
