I have a couple of project ideas in the working but they always changing and being refined. I'm in Steve Dean's course DIY Health at ITP at NYU! In that class I hope to develop a prototypes for a personal health system based on me which then can be applied to the greater public. My first couple of ideas for the class were designed to promote a healthy diet and track your eating habits: 1. An iPhone app that gives users Group-on like rewards for eating at healthy stores and restaurants-- users can track their eating habits and check-into restaurants (foursquar style) and receive free food and deals at the healthy places they eat, there by reinforcing their healthy eating. 2. A healthy eating geoloction system that marks places to get a healthy meal around you. 3. It would be amazing to develop a self tracking system that tracked your diet though out the day and made suggestions on what you need to eat. Basically I am leaving it up to Steve to inspire me over the next semester!
I'm interested in designing systems that promote healthy life styles in all realms of health: emotional, physical, spiritual, and athletic. I have played and taught music for the last 18 years. I believe that music has many health benefits. My background is in User Experience and Interaction design. I studied cognitive psychology and semantics in linguistics. I have always been interested in "seeing how one reacts and relates to the world". On the broader level, I am interested in "design thinking", improvisational music, story telling and building things!
I'm getting my masters in Interactive design at NYU (ITP). I'm a musician, interaction designer & ultra distance athlete. I teach music privately & in the non-profit sector. I worked at PARC in user experience design & research before coming to ITP.
