After I completed my undergraduate law degree at University College Dublin, I moved to Chicago to work at a small law firm. After a few months in Chicago, I decided to attend law school at Duke. Following a great year in the south, I received my Master’s Degree in Law and once again decided to move. This brought me to New York, where I now work as an associate with the law firm WilmerHale. Although I am not yet admitted to the bar (I’m awaiting the results of the pesky bar exam), I am a member of the firm’s Corporate Practice. As part of my role at WilmerHale, I work closely with start-ups in the tech field. I joined NY Tech to meet people who, like me, aren’t afraid to take a risk and start their own business or move to a new country.
I grew up in Ireland eating potatoes, drinking Guinness and getting rained on. Once I realized that I didn’t like Guinness, potatoes or rain, I hatched a plan to leave Ireland and move to the New World.
