NY Tech Mixer Update

From: NYC T.
Sent on: Sunday, August 7, 2011 9:09 PM

Hi NY Tech Mixer Members,

We hope your summers are going well!  You may have noticed that several groups had recently sent out incorrect notifications that their organizers had changed.  This happened to the NY Tech Mixer a few weeks back, as well as to a few other meetups like the NY Tech Meetup.  We're glad to say that helped us resolve the issue and our planning committee was added back.  Sorry for any confusion, and thanks to all of our dedicated, concerned members- you guys are great!

With that said, we wanted to take this opportunity to recap some of the plans for the group that we discussed at our last Demos & Drinks event in Q2.  We’re going to continue with organizing quarterly Demos & Drinks events, which allow 5 startups to demo to an audience of 500+ attendees.  We keep it quarterly because we've learned from feedback that our members don't necessarily need *more* events, but rather better quality events that are larger, more social, and feature higher-quality demos.  In the next couple of weeks, we’ll be announcing details on our Q3 Demos & Drinks event, which we’re excited about.  We've also been planning for a larger tech conference for later this year - stay tuned!

As always, we’re open to ideas for other events that you’d like to see as well – anyone can suggest event ideas on our site and all are welcome to join our planning committee.  NY Tech Mixer is incorporated as a non-profit, and we’re run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about helping grow the tech community.

If you’d like to get in touch with us, just send a note to our group account:

We hope you join us, and see you at the next event!

-The NY Tech Mixer Planning Committee (Chhay, Jasher, Josh, Khari, Limor, Monica, & Solomon)

By the way, if you’re looking for more tech events to fill your calendar, you should check out Charlie O’Donnell’s weekly newsletter, as well as other meetups like the NY Tech Meetup, The Hatchery, and NYC Tech Talks.  Those are just a few, and there are many more!
